For the eighth consecutive year, CIE Wakeboarding will host the official wake season kickoff for the west coast. For 2012, this annual event will take place at its original site, The Lake Tulloch Resort. You won’t have to disappoint mom on her big day this year by showing up with a CIE hangover either. Spring Ride is on May 4-6, so Mother’s Day is the following weekend!

The CIE Spring Ride will kick off Friday night with a party in the waterfront bar. Game time begins Saturday morning where spectators can meet their favorite pro riders just before the Double-Up action begins. Florida riders like Andrew Adkison, Phil Soven, JD Webb and Jimmy Lariche are just a few of the top names that travel to Spring Ride year after year. You can expect the local natives like Ricky G., Josh Twelker, Randall Harris, Derek Cook and Jason Callen along with other big names to charge it hard for the title.

Every year, the CIE Spring Ride attracts more than a thousand wakeboarders from all over the country to ride, meet new peeps, celebrate the start of the new season and watch their favorite big-leaguers charge double ups for cash. For the last seven years running, the Spring Ride has hosted the biggest professional wake venue in California.

The Lake Tulloch Resort offers waterfront accommodations with boats slips, boat ramps, dining and a waterfront bar. Spectators can enjoy the show from the grassy peninsula and outdoor poolside cabana. Please call (209) 785-8200 for room reservations.

0 2012 Malibu MXZ

For the 2012 wakeboarding season, CIE will be riding behind the all new Malibu MXZ that has the super wide, extra deep bow design. This new look maximizes bow space, and combined with the wraparound lounge, it sets the seating capacity of 15 which is plenty for the crew. The design also allows for a sharp, smooth entry into the rough water which gives the eye-candy up front (ladies preferred) an enjoyable ride.

Although this is a new look from the classic Wakesetter design, rest assure that the tested hull is held to the highest of wake standards and has the best wake out of the box. That is one thing CIE loves about Malibu, the 4 stock tanks and power wedge have the capabilities to make the wake good for any rider. However, the L96 6.0L (410 HP) with 400 foot-pounds of torque allows the additional 4K of extra ballast to set the wake to “Mackin” for our required taste. The MXZ also sets the tone for its high-tech development as it was designed completely in a digital environment. Other sexy attributes that standout on this diva are the Illusion G3 tower and Malibu Touch Command. Also, the MXZ’s rear transom-seating with accessible wet storage and cup holders is perfect for me to get ready for a set or just chill with golden nectar’s. We are looking forward to getting out on the water in 2012 with this sexy machine!!

The next event is approaching quickly. Only 2 weeks away until the fun begins. Be sure to register early and save $money$. We will be having wakesurfing along the Delta portion of the Lakes. Also a rail jam will be held after the event on Saturday evening. Its a “Battle of the Brands”so come out and root on your favorite team.

Visit EagalLakes.com camping allowed $20 per nite RV-no hookups $10 Tent. If you bring a pet it must be leashed at all times. No exceptions.

Schedule: (For Saturday and Sunday)
Registration begins at 7am for Slalom.
Slalom begins SHARPLY at 8am. Don’t miss your set.
Wakeboard/Wakeskate Registration 8am- 12pm. No Registrations after this time. No Exceptions.
Wakeboard begins at 10am SHARP.
Rail Jam begins on rail lake at 4pm. (Saturday Only)

The third installment of this ladies-only event went off at beautiful Lake McClure outside of Merced, California this past weekend and it was a huge success. Multiple sets behind awesome Malibu boats, winch and rail riding in the swimming lagoon (with plenty of awestruck onlookers), a huge raffle (everyone was WINNING!), a Sunday morning wakesurf session… too much fun to list. We had attendees from all over the West Coast, from SoCal to Seattle, and of all ages, from 9 to 49. Congrats to our Girls Ride Surprise Prize winner, Joan Campbell of Vancouver, Washington, who picked up her choice of any 2012 Hyperlite Biolite wakeboard for really showing the Girls Ride spirit.
