The CIE Company was founded in 2001, and continues to grow with Northern California natives, Billy Tonis, Evan Brown, Jarrod Ehlers and Allen Bischofberger. CIE started as a clothing company and was created out of desire for “involvement” in the Wakeboarding industry. The first lot in the apparel line was printed in 2002, and used to support local, grass root events and riders. 

By 2003 CIE, became a household name in the Northern California Wakeboarding scene. A half dozen distinguishable shirts, hats, and shorts could be found at several local pro shops. CIE was established as a symbol of the “Delta Area Wakeboarding” and began sponsoring local contests and gatherings with Wakeboard clothing and accessories.  

In 2005, CIE founded the annual “CIE Spring Ride.” As the years progress, the CIE Spring Ride has stapled itself as one of the largest, most anticipated Wakeboard gatherings in California. The event hosts a professional rider double up contest for spectators, a raffle with thousands in prizes, and an opportunity to meet other professional wake riders in a beautiful lake-front resort venue. Many spectators travel across the states and even countries to attend this event. The gathering has gained national exposure with the articles and pictures on Wakeworld and Wakeboarding Magazine. The creation behind the CIE Spring Ride was to join California riders in the kick-off of a new riding season.

Each year CIE promotes wakeboarding contests and establishes itself as a local sponsor. They included the Delta Riders Association, INT, WWA and Hangtime events in the Northern California area. These contests were spread throughout the year gathering competitive riders to compete with others at an individual level. CIE provided the use of there Mastercraft X-Star as the tow boat for these contests.

CIE has coordinated with film companies to market videos in recent years. Such films include The Chick Flick, Delta Sessions II, Nor Cal Faction, and Global Warning. Tow and chase boats were provided by CIE, holding many professional involvements with the film crews.

The CIE Company has grown to be a largely influential group that has made its mark by filling the void between recreational wakeboarders, and professional level riders. Filling this void has gained the company and its members respect from California throughout its Nation.
